I am a Professor of Plant Physiological Ecology in the Department of Biological Sciences at Idaho State University.
Currently (August 2023-August 2025) I am on leave from ISU, and I am a rotating Program Director in the Integrative Organismal Systems Division of the National Science Foundation.
I am a broadly-trained plant physiological ecologist and global change biologist. My general research interests are plant ecophysiology, ecosystem ecology, climate change ecology, and ecohydrology. My primary research interests include plant physiological responses to climate change, carbon and water fluxes at leaf to ecosystem scales, and mechanisms of changes in species’ range limits. My work spans organizational scales from molecular to the landscape level.
